I’ve been to a bunch of caves in my life and while they are all feature stalagmites and stalactites of various sizes, none have such beautiful — and HUGE — crystals as Mexico’s Cave of Crystals. Sincerely, this is a heckuva site to see.
It was found in about 8 years ago (year 2000) when the mining company pumped out the water out of 30×90 feet cave. It turns out the cave was filled with mineral rich water which encouraged the amazing growth of these beautiful crystals. The temperature inside is ridiculously hot at around 136 degrees Fahrenheit (58C), which is quite unusual for the caves. All the ones I went to were quite cold

Lucky suckers at Bit-Tech.net got themselves a brand new Core i7 (Nahelm) processors and pretty boards to go with. The successor of Intel’s Core 2 CPU’s truly brings innovation and speed we all hoped for.
Just a year ago I built myself a ridiculously fast machine. To day I have never had a slowdown or something the machine could not do in a snap - but I admit, when it comes to editing movies - while 3 hours for an H.264-BluRay encoding of a home video is not too long, I’d definitely like it a bit faster.
From what I could see on Bit-Tech - H.264 encoding speed is cut in HALF compared to my overclocked Core 2 Duo E8400 running water cooled at 4GHz. Now that’s something I really like and something I could benefit from.
The Core i7 965 @ 3.2GHz is $999, Core i7 940 @ 2.93GHz is $562, and the little brother (which most people will buy) Core i7 920 @ 2.66 is at respectable $284 USD.
Some people may complain about this, but I think I can live with this pricing structure. Main reason: all these CPU’s carry 8MB L3 Cache (1MB L2) and support the new Tripple DDR3 setups. The best part: they are MADE for overclocking.
I think about June, July next year I may be jumping on this bandwagon. My Core 2 still has much to offer until prices settle a bit and more choices on motherboards and cheaper DDR3 RAM prices arrive.

Ok guys. If you love to eat good tasting stuff Christmas time is the best.
I am from Europe so I am really into all kinds of breads and anything made of dough . During Christmas time most of US department stores (JC Penny, Macy’s, Marhsall’s, etc.) get a very special treat: Panettone.
Panettone is a typical bread of Milan which Italians (and me) enjoy during the Christmas and New Year’s. They make it only around this time so if you like it once you try it - stock up on it for a full year; at least that’s what I do . The breads are well packed and expire in about 6-8 months so they are perfect for storing for later.
If you’ve never ate it - check it out. I think you’re in for a treat. If you find one you do not like - try another brand. Not all are made equal. Make sure it says Made in Italy on the bottom of it too - the recipe is quite secret.

Last Saturday, Sally and I went to The 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars, a show we both were looking forward to since before the Olympics were even over.
We really enjoyed watching the Olympics, swimming and especially gymnastics were on our TV almost all the time. Heck, we even bought the 52″ Sony Bravia XBR4 mostly so we can watch the Olympics in style .
Maybe we expected too much from the Tour, or maybe we were just too excited about it, but in reality I must admit - whoever organized this whole deal is simply AN IDIOT. Read more
While Apple’s included PHP configuration included with Apache is getting better and better, it is still far from complete.
First thing that it’s missing is support for GD library, which, if you are looking to manipulate images via PHP, is simply essential.
While there are a bunch of other ways to run PHP (XAMPP, MAMP and others), I like using the Apache and PHP that come with Leo and build on top of that (like a true geek).
